The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Division of Advocacy and Health Policy (DAHP) analyzes and advocates on regulations that affect you—the practicing surgeon—and the care you provide your patients. Much of the DAHP’s regulatory activity is focused on issues that impact coding, billing, and reimbursement for surgical care. Key areas include programs administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS); physician, hospital, and ambulatory surgical center payment rules; private insurer policies; administrative burden reduction; and practice management.
