Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)

Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education—ACGME has compiled a listing of accredited residency programs and other helpful resources.

ACGME Resident Data Collection Log—the Residency Review Committee for Surgery's CPT code-based Internet surgical case log.

American Medical Association (AMA)

FREIDA Online—an American Medical Association database containing information on approximately 7,500 graduate medical education programs that are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), as well as information on 200 combined specialty programs.

AMA-RFS (American Medical Association - Resident and Fellow Section)—Residency and fellowship vacancies - not limited to surgery, but a useful source for finding residency and fellowship openings.

Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)

Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS®)—a service that transmits residency applications, letters of recommendation, Dean's Letters, transcripts, and other supporting credentials from medical schools to residency program directors using the Internet.
